Es un lugar muy interesante desde el punto de vista faun\u00edstico y flor\u00edstico, ya que en \u00e9l se fusionan el medio acu\u00e1tico y el terrestre. Sin embargo, el Biotopo no est\u00e1 aislado, y es un componente m\u00e1s de un paisaje mucho m\u00e1s amplio. As\u00ed, el Valle de Leitzaran en su conjunto, guarda un gran patrimonio cultural y natural. Por lo tanto, las caracter\u00edsticas del Biotopo enriquecen al conjunto del valle, y viceversa.
